Well, I have put in 33 years of service in variance ranks in the Indian Army. Here, we are supposed to write training notes, exercises and article on social as well as professional subjects. Command is a complex affair these days. It requires social interaction with the various government agencies, social groups and at times one has to deal with disgruntled/ dissatisfied or differing ideologically vented people. It gives a vast amount of experience in understanding the local culture, their onerous problems and the compulsions of the ethnic groups.
