Decode "print to file" files and extract basic text.

I want to be able to analyse "print to file" files and extract basic text. The printer driver is known for each file, but it varies between files, Ideally I would like to be able to browse for the file and also be able to nominate which printer driver, but if it is very difficult I will settle with just one particular printer driver. The data coded in the files contains simple text alpha-numeric,. FONTs, graphics and page layout is not important. I require the source code, let me know what suits you. It would be good if it was done in Processing. Can this be done ?
