Add IPTC info from database

Hi I have a large number of images (about 7,000) to which I want to add IPTC information from a database. The database is in an Excel spreadsheet but i can configure that as required. The database has nine columns of data (filename, photographer, keywords, common name etc) I have used iMatch ([login to view URL]) and there is a script available that partially does what I want (it brings in the description and the keywords - although only as a continuous string rather than as a list) but I would like to extend this to import all the properties - and ideally separate the keywords into a list. There are different levels that would be acceptable and because this will almost certainly only ever get used once it does not need to be particularly polished. Even running the program a number of times - once for each property would be acceptable. A copy of the database as well as the existing iMatch script.
