change to existing php xml script

i have a script that was written using codeigniter in php. The scripts takes data from a database, allows me to configure a YAML that will be converted to XML using that data. I have a field called property_type that has values like ranch, cottage, etc. I would like the script to replace those values with different pre-set values (mapping) before producing the xml. I cannot make any changes to the database or I would just do this by automated sql. But I only want the script to change these values IF the YAML Config is named a certain name. I imagine a switch/case statement will handle this, so it won't be much programming. I will upload the files that I think you need, you make the changes and I test them out because the script is live and cannot have any errors.
