Flash/Red5 Performance Issue
Sharp completer/fixer developer required to diagnose & solve a performance bottleneck in a Red5 / Flash based Video chat system.
A newly written video chat website is almost finished, but is making too many database connections. This causes the video stream to lag while it waits for SQL queries to complete. The original author wrote a mostly good system but I now need a java expert to make a few key changes to reduce database chatter -- unblocking the video stream.
Problem code is certainly in the red5 (i.e. java) component, so good java skills are essential.
However, the flash client may also be causing issues, and communicates with the java component through the database. Hence good Flash skills are highly desirable, but not essential. If you can make flash and red5 talk directly instead of through the database -- problem solved!
Or maybe use an in-memory database (e.g. Derby) to speed up the SQL.
I need someone to solve the problem quickly for me. The right person can probably spot the issue in 1 hour and make a quick dollar here!...
