Audio Download Site

Required: Fully functioning website to facilitate the downloading of both audio and video content. The site will include the following pages (see attached overview): - Home Page - Select Category Page (1 page) - Select Subject (Product) (3 pages) - Contact Us (including enquiry form and/or e-mail button) - Help Page - Disclaimer and Privacy Policy - Subject Download Section(s) (See below) - E-commerce facility (See below) The site will have a number of subject category pages/sections, these in turn will contain six Content Pages. Each page will allow customers to download content (MP3 or WMA format). For the purpose of this project only one of the category pages will be fully functioning to contain six content pages. Each page section will feature (an album containing) up to 20 audio files, each of 3 ??" 5 mins length (3 ??" 6MB each). The number of sections with downloadable content will increase over time and therefore the site must be modular and fully scaleable. Any quote must include the cost for the initial set up of the website with one section of downloads (6 pages, as detailed above). The site needs to be able to process debit and credit card payments for downloads of content from the site. This will invoice a one off payment is likely to involve pre-payment to facilitate a licence to download an invididual album of tracks. The site must also be capable of adapting to downloadable video content as well as any new audio/visual file formats that are developed. As well as a download purchase factility there also needs to be a purchase/mail order capability which will involve the sale of a pre-recorded product should the shopper not have access to an mp3 player. ## Deliverables Design/Development Criteria The design of the site should be functional, consistent and user friendly. Any quote must outline the proposed development platform/tools that would be used to build the site and benefits of doing so. The site must comply with the Disability Discrimination Act and have features required by visually impaired users. Site must be viewable on all leading internet browsers such as MS Internet Explorer, Netscape Navigator, Mozilla and Opera. Any downloadable or payment pages must be fully secure and encrypted to recognised standards. Payment to be linked to standard merchant facilities and paypal. A useful reference site for the functionality of the website is any of the MP3 music download sites currently available. There is absolutely no requirement for flash animation/moving icons of any description. As a design capability exists in-house we would propose that page dummies/templates are created for each page by ourselves and supplied as hard copies to facilitate a corporate style. All text files (word/txt) and images (72dpi jpegs) can be supplied in any format required by the successful developer. Content Management A content management system (CMS) needs to be provided to allow us to easily maintain and update pre-determind sections of the web site. An overview must be given on any content management system provided. Search Engine Marketing The site must be designed with a search engine optimisation and marketing strategy in mind, and any quote must outline the suppliers approach to this critical area. Intellectual Property All intellectual property for the website must be signed over to ourselves in writing. 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement). Statement of Scope The project scope is defined below. The statement of scope consists of the following subsections: Objectives ??" Ability to disperse audio/video ultimately by download but additionally through pre-recorded medium via secure online payment mechanism. Functionality ??" Secure online payment ability. Shopping cart and merchant interface. Audio/video download facility. Content management system Exclusions ??" The site is wholely functional and modular in design. No flash animation of any kind. Assumptions ??" Successful applicant should preferably have previous ability in an audio/video application of internet technology or alternatively have suitable skills in a similar environment. Constraints ??" Time constraints will exist. However we will liaise with the successful applicant to ensure lead times are achievable. ## Platform Site must be viewable on all leading internet browsers such as MS Internet Explorer, Netscape Navigator, Mozilla and Opera. Site should be accessible to any web based operating system.
