Amazon Price Tracker

Goal: Develop a program/script that will monitor prices for several hundred products on Amazon and alert the user via email. Requirements: 1) Accept a text file populated with hundreds of Amazon ASINs and a corresponding price cutoff point field. This file must be able to be edited by me later as I will need to add and subtract products. I will provide you with an initial file. 2) Using the ASINs provided via the text file, use Amazon Web Services to lookup each ASIN and the corresponding price from 3rd party marketplace sellers offering that product. If the price cutoff is met, send an email to a provided email address. The header of the email must contain the product name, the body must contain a link to the product. 3) Give the user the option to execute the program once or loop continuously (there must be a mechanism to end the loop) 4) Display how far along in the list the program has progressed as it executes. For example, "Now retrieving data for item # 215 of 1250 total items in list". Other issues: * I believe this could be developed in PHP, VB, or another platform (this is your decision ??" I need your expertise to recommend the best platform) * You must be familiar with Amazon Web Services ??" especially with regard to limitations in terms of data retrieval. There is a limitation with Amazon Web Services in terms of how much data can be retrieved from the server with each call. This program will essentially need to “crawl along??, using multiple calls to the server. * If this application cannot be developed as specified, I need you to work with me to develop an alternate solution ??" I do not want someone to abandon the project because they cannot meet the original specs. ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement). ## Platform Amazon Web Services - AWS PHP (possibly) Visual Basic, .NET, Active X Control (possibly)
