The Project: 1) A wiki type website where users can search and/or upload information about the appearance of their favorite celebrities. By appearance we mean in a variety of media outlets including, TV, internet, radio, live performance, or magazine/newspaper article. Visit [login to view URL] for a mock up version. It is contemplated that the majority of information available to users about celebrity appearances will be provided from other users. Admin control of content. 2) Users can perform searches on the site using various search criteria including - (1) category of celebrity [ie.. Actors, Musicians, Sport Stars.. etc.] (2) celebrity name [Angelina Jole, Derek Jeter, Al Gore, etc..] * We beleive this will be the most common method of searching (3) by venue for live performances [i.e., Madison Square Garden, NY, Superdome, New Orleans, etc. ] 3) If a search attempt is made using the first approach, i.e., search by category, and returns no hits, meaning the celebrity is not found in the database, the user can add the celebrity to the database after signing in or signing up with ID and PW. 6) When a user adds a celebrity to the database, the information may include 1. celebrity name 2. one or more photos 3. the place(s) where the celebrity will be appearing [ i.e., radio, tv, internet, live venue, magazine article), 4. the time and date of each appearance, and 5. a memo field for other ancillary information including links for example. 7) After the information is added to the database, the search results for a particular artist would look something like this [login to view URL] plus a photos and links. 8) The front page of the website will include - 1. a 'most searched' name list, 2. a section for new searches, 3. log in or sign up, 4. ad space, 5. news feed from any of the free services.
