The J* monitor is a very simple Mac application that simply displays a fixed web page (currently [login to view URL]). That web page is responsible for providing all the graphics. The Mac application is simply responsible for allowing the window to be moved and resized making the relevant changes so that the JavaScript of the web page can see the revised window size. Closing the window is equivalent to quitting the program. There is a bit more. The application has to keep the web page updated on certain info and the web page has to be able to request certain actions of the application (like to minimize itself or bring itself up as the frontmost application).
