Cleaning up a prototype app

We have developed an android app that contains adapted sample code from the vuforia cloud recognition service as well as a consolidation of other code snippets from stackoverflow and other forums to achieve what we wanted. Please note that we would like to get in touch with someone that already has experiences in the fields of server side/ cloud image recognition services though a visual search interface from providers like Wikitude, Metaio or best case Vuforia). From a conceptional point of view, the app already shows everything what we would like to integrate. The user flow is clear and all functionalities are at least known. The problem is that from three perspectives, the app need improvement in order to place it in the android store. 1) UI design: Basically, what currently exists is a bunch of super simple layouts which we would like to lift up on a modern and highly intuitive level. Therefor it is important to us that you have not just experience in UI design but also own or have access to licenced libaries, images, icons and other assets that are needed in order to build a sharp and beautiful interface. 2) Vuforia Cloud Recognition implementation: We have used sample code from Vuforia ([login to view URL]) in order to implement the server side image recognition function. Right know, this code contains a lot of parts that are not needed in our app, we would like you to clean this up and make it running smoothly. 3) Vuforia Web Services extension with own web services solution added: We use the Vuforia web services in order to pass data from the app to our Vuforia database. As this requires our server key (which we do not want to be part of the app) we want another instance running to which the data are passed first from the app. The http post request to vuforia database should be then performed from this instance. 4) Storing metadata outside the Vuforia database Vuforia allows to attach metadata to a target image which is a crucial funciton within our application. Unfortunately, the metadata is limited to a size of 200kb which we would like to work around in order to allow also videos and other media to become attachments to a target image. For this purpose, we would like to use the Vuforia metadata simply as URL that refers to the content we attached. This goes hand in hand with [3]. 5) Testing We expect the application to be tested (and validated) for Android devices running Android 2.3.3 and above. 6) Re-vamping of other code The methods we use to take an image and crop it are very basic and not very intuitive. Also changes in the screen orientation mess up the complete activity and lead to bugs. We want to avoid these kinds of errors and therefor need someone with a significant experience. As an example for what we request here: the crop funcionality for an image taken with the camera is currently the highlighting of a retangular area on the screen. We would like to enhance this feature by allowing the user to crop an individual shaped area of an image with a finger swipe (like a scratch card). 7) Documentation The most important part!
