Create a linux image for Raspberry Pi's

Hi, I have worked on several projects using Raspberry pi for hardware/software solutions including web based solutions. We can have direct URL to get the page or if the contents are offline, then better to keep it locally so that Raspberry pi can work offline. We can host pages on localhost and that will help to have custom operation like power off or reboot. Even remote power off is also possible as it will hosted on local web server and using IP address it can be accessed. The same can be used to configure the URL and other config related information. Regarding splash screen I believe you want to splash the IP address rather MAC address. But both are possible. Either we can have the splash screen based displaying of IP/MAC address or we can show this as part of kiosk console (in some hidden area or with a click popup). But we have create a design to add our own functions while fetching the content from remote URL. As PI is having limited RAM, the Chrome rendering graphics heavy pages will not be very smooth. Also it depends on target resolution (video out or HDMI mode and screen resolution). For most the text and image based web page show Raspberry pi configuration is good enough. But to show more complicated pages, we need to looks for alternate boards like oDriod U3 that is having more powerful CPU + 2GB RAM and is also having HDMI out. Also runs on Linux flavor (xUbuntu) and still costing just $20 more than raspi (cost $60) and smaller than Raspberry pi board. Thanks!

Hello, The development of your project would take roughly one week + a few days for testing. I will be providing a small tool that will take a source 'template' location, an URL and the SD drive letter (or mount location) as input and then populating it with the right data. I will create a chromium patch that will add a javascript function which can you use in any of your websites to turn off the device. Hi, I can provide you with the Linux Image running on Raspberry Pi with all Overclocking enabled. The MAC address will show in a Slpash Screen before the Chromium browser starts The Shutdown of the RPi, and the URL setting will be available from a custom URL that can be accessed via a PC. I 'm willing to perform this project. I dont see that the requirements are too dificult, i think all of them are feasible and doable on the time i asked for (10 days). If you select me i will fully document the changes performed on initial image up to reach the full requirements. I have at hand a couple of raspberry pi in order to perform the configurations detailed on the project description. Initial question is what SD side will you use as minimal configuration? Hello, I do network and server administration on a daily basis in a concert venue, and I created a kiosk system with two independent screens. Both screens are run by Raspberry Pi and they have a simple web-based management interface. Currently they rotate images and videos but modifying them to show web content is not a problem. Although it seems to be easy to create such an image from scratch, it isn't. Raspberry Pis can be tricky when you use them in production. Hi, Im London based interactive design artis, i got MA in New media studio in Academy of Fine Art in Prague. I have experience with all kind of sensors, arduino and raspberry pi boards. Ussualy im using linux based system for running my art installation, that means it must be really well working without maintenance. My recent project is dual synchro video on 2 raspberry board thru GPIO pins. I modified raspberry pi distribution to be read only, so its really durable even on hard power off and its not corrupting sd card. Now im using this distro for other project, ussualy for low budget projects. All my project are plug and play, so usually just plug in to the electricity and it will boot to system and start programs. about your project: I can start chromium with startup address, can be done by reading address from first FAT partition which is accesible from normal PC (or this must be done remotely?) I can dynamically change boot screen using init script to generate image file based on MAC address power loss is solve by read only system, with for example storage on USB flash power off can be done by script or also it is safe to unplug electricity directly with read only system Let me know if you will have more questions on me
