$750-1500 AUD

Paid on delivery
We have a website that needs to be repaired and managed. The site was built and delivered in late 2010, where it was hosted and some changes made. The website has never been operational. This is a Joomla website with Community Builder and AEC Subscription Manager. When the site was delivered for hosting, the Joomla version was 1.5.15 and we paid for upgrading to version 1.6. The original site used Community Builder 1.2.3 and it was upgraded to Community Builder 1.7. After each upgrade, the registration links were damaged and we paid to have some repaired. Those who previously were responsible for changes and upgrades, estimated between $150 and $280.00 to finalised the issues with the website and make it operate as we required. We sought a firm quote and they refused to do any further work on the website. In late 2011 we engaged two alternative website developers to report on the website. It was confirmed: "the core code of Community Builder has been changed (instead of putting in a template override)." "The component on the website for the subscription management is a third party component that is integrating with both Joomla and Community Builder. This component – AEC Subscription Manager professes to integrate with community builder, and uses the CB registration and login modules with some “Hacks” or changes, therefore once the CB was upgraded the website lost the additional “Parents” registration, falling back on the CB registration page. Hence the registration issues. Community Builder offers its own subscription module that is specifically written to enhance community Builder. I would be hesitant to use any other subscription component other than the Community Builder Subscription module. I also notice that the site is running as [login to view URL] in legacy mode. Legacy mode means that it is a [login to view URL] site running as a 1.0 site. Therefore allowing 1.0 extension to run on 1.5 sites. This to me is a major concern as 1.5 has been out for quite a while. I would suggest investigation as to why this is so and what extensions are needing the legacy mode, and also address these." In order to see the website prior to upgrading, visit: [login to view URL] In order to view the website after the upgrading and with some repairs to the registration links, visit: [login to view URL] From the Website Designer: "The system is very easy to use and actually leaves very little work to do. Payments will be made to your Paypal account automatically and you get an email notification at every sign up and every file upload. The system pretty much runs itself, making life much easier for you when it comes to maintenance and administrative work." We are looking for a new website developer, who is competent, reliable and ethical. We require high quality and reliable work. The site has to be SEO friendly. We are interested in ongoing maintenance and development of the site. Please advise the work you recommend and quote accordingly.
