Produce a report of not more than 15 pages on how you propose to progress a novel idea within the Communications business sector. Your report should draw together the activities undertaken within the module into a single coherent, logical, strategic proposal. It is critical that you include explanations of why you have chosen to propose what you have and why you have dismissed alternatives. Your report should include sections covering the following points: 1 A description of your vision of what the communications system will look like in 2020. You should describe the system from a user’s point of view addressing what you think the functionality of it will be. Your vision needs to be ‘reasonable’, based on projections of technology capability, although it can be a statement of what you would like to see, provided this does not break current known laws of physics. 2 Identify one aspect of your vision that is novel compared to what is currently available and summarise this in no more than 50 words. This is your ‘Novel Feature’. (10%) 3 A clear statement of what, within your novel feature, can be protected from an intellectual property point of view and state the type of protection you would seek for each. (10%) 4 A statement, with justification, of the Company form that you propose as the most appropriate to realise your novel feature. (10%) 5 A mission statement for your Company. (10%) 6 A strategic analysis for your novel feature in your Company. (30%) 7 An overview of the people types you will need in your organisation with comments on where you might find suitable people and how you would attract them. (20%) Overall report readability, quality, structure, etc. (10%) Your report should include an executive summary, introduction, conclusions and recommendations, references, etc. All material used that is not your own MUST be fully identified and referenced.
