Vapor Communications is seeking an iOS developer to help us create a proof of concept for the world’s first oBook. What’s an oBook, you ask ? An oBook is a digital book with accompanying scents. The first one will be a children’s book classic - “Goldilocks and the Three Bears”. Each page of the book will contain buttons that children can press to trigger scents that accompany the text as shown in the attached PDF. We do not wish to build a custom authoring and playbook apps for oBooks. Instead, we would like to integrate the ability to trigger scents on our bluetooth-accessible device using a custom plugin for existing tools like iBook Author or Adobe. We have an existing iOS library that makes interfacing with our scent producing device easier. In addition to iOS development experience, it would be very helpful to have worked with PDF or have attempted to build custom widgets for iBook Author.

Hi, I am responding to your bid request. This certainly sounds like an interesting project! I definitely have the requisite iOS development and PDF experience. I'm not terribly familiar with iBook Author though. It looks like iAuthor widgets are just HTML5/Javascript, so based on just that information, before researching any further, I don't believe what you are wanting would be possible since the widget simply wouldn't be able to access your Bluetooth library, something like that would require a custom native app.
