Hello, I research a solution and found a simple circuit with a few components that can be implemented very easy. I have a lot of experience in automotive industry and also a lot of experience with USB and other type of chargers. I can give you an solution for this in only 1 hour. This is about me: I have 8 years of product design in the automotive industry. I am an expert in: - Dc - Dc converters - USB charging - accelerometers, gyroscopes - GPS and GSM - LCD Displays - LED power calculation As a Layouter I have 5 Years experience. I am an expert in : - Power Dissipation Calculation - EMC Rules - Impedance Calculation - Manufacturing Rules I have made Layout for ARM processor. Work also with BGA footprint. I have done projects even on 10 layer. So I know how to build a layer stack up. As Layout and Schematic software I am an expert in Eagle, PADs, Zuken. As Simulation software for the Schematic I used LTSpice.

This can be easily do with my experience. what i want to know is: 1. what is the current drawing by your equiment? 2. your device votage is 5 and car voltage is 12, in which part your voltage regulation doing by? inside your device or seperate regulator? 3. do you need external device to handle the voltage stabilization??

Hi! as you describe your problem its the starter motor, they consume so much current only as you start on the engine... i'm thinking in a little regulator circuit with some maxim or linear voltage regulators to help you out with those brownout the circuit would cost around 5$~10$, but that depends on your device, i just only need what device is (model and mark) too see what are their specs with its operation, Another question... what adapter do you use to supply your device? it is that adapter that don't support those brownouts. Worked in Automotive domain. i know whats happening with your circuit. you need external circuit which will ensure your circuit will not reset. worked on this issue before.

I understand that you require perfect 5V output from range of input voltages of 6-12V. I am currently working in a medical field equipment firm. I design circuit and Pcb Layout for them. There is a simple way to solve your problem: On the battery in parallel with a super capacitor (farad capacitor) can solve your problem.

• Final Year Project: IP cam based car security surveillance system over Android with car Immobilizer.(Real time video surveillance and message alerting system via GSM in case of any intrusion detection in car while immobilizes the car). As i have the same issue regarding this in my Final year project due to which my GSM modem used to get reset because of voltage drop and i did solve this issue using the best power supply i can design. Your devices gets reset because during ignition of your car the device gets less current in Amperes because of which when it tries to draw more current from battery the voltage gets drop.
