Hi everyone,
I have developed a Cocoa application that uses a modified webview to open videos in the background, to process them (the user does not see the webview)
When the video opens, the user starts hearing the audio in the background, which is very annoying.
I need someone to write a piece of code (using CoreAudio? or whatever) , that I can use to mute/unmute all the audio generated by any view of this app. I will include the code in the app myself. Use C/C++ or Objective-C and all necessary apple libraries, but no third party software.
Thanks.
Hi,
I think it would be possible to develop an Objective-C class with 2 methods to mute and unmute the standard audio device, using Core Audio or some other framework.
Kind regards,
Mike
I have two easy solutions to mute sounds in your application. For testing, I created a Cocoa application with a WebView which loaded a video, and then I muted the audio which was played from that video. Most of the solutions you're looking into involve muting the sound of system altogether, but my solutions are all application level and easy to implement. I would've done it for less, but the minimum is set to $50. Let me know if you're interested.
