We need to create a small application that will run on a user's PC and download certain data from a website. What we have is a web-based application that needs to have a local backup in case the internet connection is unavailable.
The way we see it working is: A user has a local Access database placed on their PC and the app installed. The app will query (with user access code built in) a web page that returns a set of data in an array separated by special characters. The app will then break apart the array and store it in a local Access database.
The data in the local database will be completely overwritten every time. So basically the function would be to dump everything from the existing table and enter new data AS IS.
The local app needs to display local data in a GUI consisting of two main interfaces: a grid and an editable form. The edited data will be stored locally until the user decides to download a new set of data. At that point the local app should simply prompt the user that he is about to overwrite existing data and if the user confirms, the download will proceed.
## Deliverables
1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):
a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.
b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).
