Android Text Expansion App Needed

We are looking to build a text expansion app for Android which does the following:
- works with any keyboard
- syncs with TextExpander
- works in the same way as TextExpander, ie. just typing 'fyi' will expand to 'for your information'
We realise these might not all be possible, but we are interested in discussing this with an experienced Android app developer to see which problems can be overcome.
