Hi, there. It's me again. I really believe you'll improve your letter by adding some niceties, such as your name and maybe even contact info at the very beginning. Maybe you do already intend to add that after you choose a winner here, but that brings up another set of questions...
Because this letter is already busting at the seams, if you add your name or anything else, it will push it to a second page. So, have you been advised by submission guidelines or anything that this letter should only be 1 page long? If yes, did they give any additional guidelines, like it must have 1-inch margins all the way around or a 12-point font?
If that's a bunch of YESes, then we'll also need to trim this down as we edit it, especially if you intend to put your name at the top.- 1 year ago

If these factors are not considerations at all (like, it can be two pages), then it would be good to know that, too. Then, instead of trimming, we can use more words (though not wastefully), because I think you will not want two pages but only 2-3 lines on the second page.
Oh, and back to niceties, will you be adding a signature line to this after you choose the winning model? If so, I really hope you can have two pages OR I hope you let us know quickly so we can start trimming down the text.
Thank you again ... for the last time.- 1 year ago

Dear Contest Holder,
I am writing both to let you know that I am on your task and to make an observation: Everyone is twisting themselves into grammar pretzels trying to tie "effective communication skills" in with the rest of the first sentence, but it just doesn't fit.
I mean, there may be some interesting angle in your mind of how effective communication skills played a part in leading you to question the root cause of poor eyesight, but until we hear more from you on that, we can only either cut it or create sentences that will make the people at the college(s), who you need to impress, scratch their heads in confusion.
So, please be open to my more creative approach. Thank you.- 1 year ago

Oh, and "sensitivity" – again in the first sentence – I forgot to ask above if, by that, do you mean eye sensitivity, or like, you were treated with sensitivity (love and attention) by those in your life, or do you maybe mean that you, yourself, were a very sensitive (alert and caring) child? I think it would really help us all to know, either way, whichever way you meant it, because the possibilities are quite varying. Thank you again.
