Fix WordPress Cache Server Plugin Problem

I recently had someone install Varnish, a WordPress cache plugin to help our website load faster and it seemed to work ok for a few days, but it is causing regular problems. For some reason when I put up a post on the WordPress blog I must manually restart Varnish for it to show up. But the bigger problem is that our host often restarts the server and Varnish does not restart with it. So, until I log into root and manually restart Varnish the site is down.

I would like this fixed, or f you have a replacement option to help the site load faster without using varnish we would be open to this as well. Please note that we are already using a cache plugin thus this would be used in addition to the plugin.
