Need to develop a Visual Studio code extension, using similar rules, Logic like Code Time or WakaTime Extension's.
User Need 1: Focus on programming rather than project management tasks
Resolution: The platform will automatically capture data from the developer’s system to fill out the project management tasks
· User Need 2: Less project management staff
Resolution: The platform will allow the company to hire less project management employees to manage development projects, one project manager will use the platform’s portal to report to other business departments on progress etc.
· User Need 3: Provide near-real time information to managers
Resolution: The platform’s portal will be automatically updated in the background, providing near real time visibility on all projects
Developer:
· A developer should either use keywords at the beginning of a file and at the end of a file as a comment in order for the plugin to detect what they are doing, this is where you should recommend how the best way will be for the platform to work, this is just an idea.
The plugin should record all activity from the developer, time, project name, file name, name of developer (OS user details)
· The plugin should be available for Visual Studio Code
Backend:
· The backend should provide a database and API’s for the platform
· The backend should reconcile any data coming from the plugin to formulate and present nice formatted data in the Web Portal. For example, if the developer worked on a file numerous times during the day then the accumulative time spent on the file should be presented, because the developer maybe worked on another file for the same project throughout the day.
