Trucking / Dispatching / Payroll in .net

This program will actually keep track of where are the units(trucks, disptaching) as well as the payroll for the employees.

Hello Gentlements...

I did get lots of responses and everybody needed more info about the project. This is a small project for the third year of college (computer science database class). The project itself will actually do the following:

1. Keep track of empleyees that work for a given company (such as UMASS)

2. Be able to automatically generate payroll and print checks in a given format (format will be provided to right coder but its just a regular paper with check printed on it, such as a payroll in Quickbooks)

3. Be able to keep track of all earnings for employees and at the end be able to print a selected tax form 1099

4. Since its a trucking project, the pay will be actually figured out by either a per mile basis, or a purcentange of the load. It should also have a hourly option as well.

## Deliverables

Now a dispathing part:

1. Keep track of where the truck is and if the truck is empty (meaining that load has been delivered, make sure to let user know about it with location of where the truck is, and specifics of who is driving the truck, and which truck unit (number) is

2. When a load is found, make sure that user can post "a new load" info and assign it to the specific driver/truck. The miles and rates should be linked with the drivers payroll because he is going to get paid by the rate i would put in the load info. So load info is truck / driver specific

3. When the load is done (delivered), an invoice shoudl be generated so that user can bill the customer for that load. This should be automatic as far as when i would check the box near the load info, that means its done, it should just generate and print and save invoice.

4. So it woudl be a gui interface with few tabs and screens such as:

1. load info (done, working, ...)

2. Truck availability

3. d ifferent reports such as if driver wants to find out how many miles he had over past so many days

4. as soon as the load would be done, and if it is in that pay period, drivers payroll woudl get updated

5. always the ability to see runs that drivers is going to be paid on next time, as well as any incomplete runs

I know its lots of words, but really not that much in coding... I do not have time since i have other stuff to do, you guys know how some classes are work demanding...

I would talk to the right candidate via direct email or msn and see about the desin of the application. I would love it to be in VB.net because i like GUI side of it, colorfull and you can see everything on the screen. Backend, i think excell or access woudl be perfect. Just something to think about is that, for example like access has automated fill in abilities, queryes and stuff like th at, i would need that. EXamle: A new load comes up, i wanna be able to click on NEW LOAD, and then just fill out screen that has few questions about the load such as where from , where to, miles, rate per mile from customer, rate per mile to driver (two different rates because if i can get $10 per mile from client, i wanna be able to pay my driver $3 so that i make some money too, so both prices should be there...

## Platform

I would need this application to be running on a windows XP, and it should be done in .net.
