PDA Work flow In summary we need 2 apps that will communicate between them by communication file in memory stick. a) PDA application that will record the punches from employees b) Desktop application Workflow will be as follows 1. Desktop app will be named (Punch Synch), and will perform 3 task. a. Download files to PDA i. Will create a file that will contain data that will be imported to PDA app ii. Data will be transferred to memory stick, and in PDA will import 1. Employees (5 columns) 2. Jobs (3 columns) 3. Phases (3 columns) iii. Will have message with statistic, for user control b. Upload from PDA i. Will read a file and import punches to desktop database(SQL) ii. Will show message with data statistics for user control iii. Will show report of invalid punches 1. ID Verified 2. ID/Pin Invalid c. Synchronize with server i. Import all data to SQL database. 2. PDA Application, will be named PDA Manual Punch, and will perform the following task a. Download from Central i. Will update always 1. Jobs 2. Phases 3. Employess ii. Before update will save a backup, always. b. Upload to central i. Will create file to be imported by desktop app, will contain all activity ii. Will show message that will be used for user control c. Record user punches i. Punches will be divided in 3 categories 1. ID/Pin Verified a. User knows user id and pin, all is OK 2. ID Verified a. User knows id, but the pin may have been forgotten, it will record event after 3 tries, and will be saved. 3. ID/PIN Invalid a. User do not know user id not the pin, after 3 tries will save. ii. USER WILL NOT INDICATE DATE/TIME IT WILL BE BY THE MACHINE iii. Always will transmit last 7 days iv. The supervisor will indicate the default job and phase to be used for the pda, If database have more than one job/phase, user will need to indicate job and phase v. User will have ability to prepare backup of db
