I would like to create a web based or windows/mac based program for this attached calculator.
This is to measure the volume dimension of various types of items for freight purposes.
It should be a two step screen/page process. The first page should have fields for the following:
Customer Name:
Type of Cargo:
Cargo Description:
Cargo status:
Vessel Date:
Current Date: (It would be good if this can be automatically taken from the persons computer date set)
Once these fields are entered, than they can press a Next button and it will have the fields according to the calculator i have attached here. The measurements are pretty simple. The person just has to pick a type of measure (MM, CM, Inch, Feet) from the drop down menu and it will automatically change look at the filled in field in that measurement unit. Then it calculates it accordingly to Meters. The calculations should be built in for each unit to automatically calculate according to the measurement unit type chosen.
I would like there to be an area where I can add a logo, edit header & footer for the page from either editing the page php code area or program back-end.
Now once this is done, it should be automatically saved to an Excel file or a database file either inbuilt with the program or on a hosted server which I can enter the MySql database details from the back-end panel.
There should be a way to see previous shipment calculations done in case a calculation done a week or two back needs to be checked again in the future.
All calculations done on the program should be able to export to an Excel Sheet. The excel sheet will show the same format as the program interface.
Also the program should be able to open previously saved calculations from excel sheet or other files saved under without trouble.
I know that this should be easy to do on PHP or Visual Basic. But need a nice and clean look to it if possible.
You are welcome to offer me ideas on how to do this best and cheapest.
