Folkrå[url removed, login to view] is a Swedish web based Democratic forum with the aims of empowering citizens to use their democratic influence in a similar manner as that of special intrestgroups.
In a representative democracy all power should stem from the people and their wishes should be represented in the parliament. But with the present democratic culture, people are disinterested in politics and tend to be more intrested in pop or sportsculture. Even though politics has a greater influence in our lives. The meaning of Folkrådet is to empower people to stay updated in politics and through a public forum, designed much like social networks, better influence the policymaking process. Politicians will also benifit in that they will get direct feedback on said policys. Not to mention the opportunity to via the public dialog gain a broader public support for policys.
-So what i need is a website with profiles for each member of parliamant (349).
-The possibility of presenting statistics such as parliamentary voting behaviour.
-Being able to as an admin, publish information on motions, campaigns etc.
- A searchable "wall" on each of the PMs profile where registered users can post questions.
-A moderator function to ensure that the PMs don't get harrased or spammed.
