I have a text manipulation program that requires some additional work on it. My current programmer is far too busy to work on the code himself at the moment, so I’m offering you the chance to work with me. I need a couple of bugs ironed out; 1: a compile directive that creates the full version or light version dependant of a flag setting. This should be pretty easy to track down and fix, probable just a spelling mistake. 2: I have a search and replace function not working as it should. What should happen; There are two input files. file1: contains a list of phrases. Blue Wooden Slinky Yellow Glass Sprocket Red Wooden Widget file2: contains a list of lookups (could also be short phrases). Glass Silver Brass The program reads each line in file1, and looks for common words in file2. if it finds words (or phrases) in common, it makes a copy of the file1 line, and inserts the word or phrase found in file2, creating a new line for every entry in file2. What should be output is Blue Wooden Slinky Red Wooden Widget Yellow Brass Sprocket Yellow Silver Sprocket Yellow Glass Sprocket But what I actually get is Blue Wooden Slinky Red Wooden Widget Yellow Sprocket Brass Yellow Sprocket Silver Yellow Glass Sprocket On some phrase, the middle words are swapped with the end words. In addition to this, there is an extra space inserted before the middle word where the error occurs. The code is well documented and structured, and the original programmer has agreed to make himself available to answer any technical questions you might have about the existing code. I have plans to upgrade this program in the future, so a successful programmer can expect a lot more work from me. All code must be well structured, easy to follow, and very well commented. I should be able to read the code and understand what’s going on. I can code myself, but I find it an ineffective use of my time. I invite your questions and comments. Glenn Leader
## Deliverables
1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):
a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.
b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).
