I have done a billing software, where in there was facility to enter client details , and can also create companies for client classification.
We can generate receipts and invoices for the client and can send emails as and when required, can send them SMS too.
More ever reports were their for client list and receipts generated.
For report I have used Jasper reports.
Beauty of the technology was it was Java that is an open source hence no license required to use and develop software.
