I have designed a custom gaming keyboard with a wired USB interface, based on a PIC16F1459 Microchip controller.
REQUIREMENTS:
1) Develop a keyscanning routine with software debounce. Scan 41 keys, and report key press and release by sending appropriate USB keycode to host PC.
2) Develop code with MPLAB-X-IDE tool (free from Microchip website)
