I wish to create an LED light array for horticulture purposes. For this small project, I will need you to reference different LED product specification documents, and calculate which surface mount LED provides the most amount of light/photons for the least amount of electricity it consumes.
LED manufacturers such as Samsung, Osram, Cree and Luminus use sensors to judge the quality of light or photons produced by horticulture LED's. They are judged based on PAR (Photosynthetically Active Radiation) and PPFD (Photosyntetic Photon Flux Density). They also show power consumption of each product.
There are different classes of horticulture LED's, for the different wavelength (or colors) of light that each LED provides, (Red, green, white, blue etc etc).
I will provide you a list of LED's from each manufacturer, I will gather the documentation information for you. For me to consider this project a success, I will expect you to provide me a report with your all your findings, explaining which LED light provides the most photon radiation for the least amount of electricity for each class of wavelength / color. You will find the most efficient LED for each wavelength class for each manufacturer. Please backup your findings in your report with actual data showing why. I'm asking you to interpret the data for me.
