2D Tiles for Cityscape and Robot Character Design
$250-750 USD
Paid on delivery
I am seeking a game artist with knowledge and experience in 2D tile design to work on my upcoming game. The selected artist will work closely with me to create a captivating, modern cityscape and a unique robot character.
The assets will be used in a game to teach kids (ages 6-12) how to code. The robot character doesn't need a lot of actions (moving in different directions, picking up an object, putting down an object, and that's it) but might need to have a few expressions included (happy/sad/...) to represent progress in the game.
Key Responsibilities:
- Creating tile sets required to build the city and its outskirts, ranging from roads, buildings, lampposts to parks (reference art: Kenney city sets)
- Designing a cube-like robot character riding on a pair of appealing, tank-like wheels (reference art to be discussed on project start).
Skills and Experience Desired:
- Experience creating 2D game tile designs and maintaining a consistent style across assets.
- Previous experience in designing and drawing cartoon-style game art.
- Demonstrated ability to create a modern city aesthetic.
- Artistic proficiency in conceptualizing and expanding upon mechanical robot designs
Required deliverables:
- PNG tile sets that can be used as building blocks to build a city for the game. One for roads, one for buildings, and one for city decor - but be flexible on how these are split best (thinking of layering).
- PNG tile set for the robot character.
- Raw assets files that you generated depending on your tool of choice.
- 3 feedback sessions. So, think about doing quality gates for the first 2 sessions. Don't go all-in on quality on the first deliverable; start working on quality/detail as we move forward.
Please accompany your bid with a link to a portfolio of past works that showcase your proficiency in the aforementioned areas. I am looking forward to working with you!
