Orxa Grid is a tech start-up (based in UK and India), who develops embedded IoT sensors along with an analytics front end for electricity utilities. We are looking for an innovative and passionate Backend Engineer to join our software team in Pune and help us scale rapidly. [login to view URL]
Job Profile
• Candidate will work alongside an international team in building and deploying a stable, market ready analytics backend
• Develop automated build, test and deployment processes
• Decompose large API services into modern microservices using most appropriate language and storage engine for each application
• Containerisation and orchestration of services for development and deployment
• Assist with cloud and on-prem deployments, particularly with database administration
• Write documentation for existing and newly developed services
• Participate in code reviews with colleagues
• Make daily code pushes to version control system and attend sprint meetings

• Our frontend services are currently written in React.js and use REST APIs
• Our current backend services use C#, Python, C++, MySQL and PostgreSQL

Candidate Skills
• Significant experience in database administration
• Significant experience with API engineering
• Broad knowledge of existing backend technologies and ability to select the best tool for a particular task
• Demonstrable cloud and on-prem deployments of your work
• Experience of writing documentation and test suites for your work
• A firm believer in iterative Agile development, and avoiding reinventing the wheel
• Comfortable reviewing, learning, pitching and using new technologies
• You are excited about the possibilities of combining hardware and software to create innovating and exciting products that will help improve people’s lives
