STM32F407 and FSMC problem

Hi,
I have a project which is based on one of my older project.
Working project:
STM32F207 (runs at 120MHz) with USB and FSMC and 7"LCD and onboard NOR flash (M29 device).
Images are transferred from flash drive to onboard flash and then displayed on demand. This worked fine.
New project:
I redesigned the board to now use the STM32F407IGT6 (runs at 168MHz) and the S29 NOR flash device because it is bigger. The problem however is now that the imgages are misformed it seems like a FSMC setup issue i have played with different timings but it still doesn't work correctly. If i drop the CORE speed of the STM32 to about 32MHz it seems to work OK. This indicates a setup problem. I have to work on other parts of the project and would need someone to look into this problem in detail.
Attached are the relevant datasheets as well as the project. The project is built in Atollic Truestudio for ARM. A trial of this can be downloaded from the atollic website.
This is custom hadrware so an extensive knowledge of the stm32 and FSMC bus would be required.
Any help will be appreciated.
