The Underologist - Hunting for Mr. Maybe

I was born and raised in Northern California, and enjoyed success early on in my career with some key Fortune 500 companies (Sunkist, PepsiCo/Frito-Lay, 7Up/Phillip Morris); my last of which was Senior Marketing Manager for SUNKIST where I gained unparalleled knowledge. I served in hands on roles, and intimately understand the unique status and organizational requirements of female consumers more specifically.

My education, background, and knowledge of the “urban aware female shopper” – along with my behind-the-scenes insights and personal anecdotes – helps make this book, The Underologist™, all that more engaging and a must read for today's modern woman.

I reside in Arizona, where I’m a Granddad to creatures two-and four-legged. I’m a “Golden Doodle” enthusiast, and a novice golfer (the adult version of an Easter Egg hunt) who escapes it all by retreating to my desert-home office.

I'm looking for a highly skilled Copy and Line editor.

Due to my limited skills, I need someone with experience who can help bring this project to its full fruition. Who can take the flow of my ideas, the key aspects of the manuscript (the narrative arch), vocabulary, structure, characterization, style, and development, and breathe fresh new life into it.

The book is meant to be quirky and odd, and plain silly on some level in order to burst above the competitive noise level to achieve targeted audience acquisition. The book’s for women who want to improve how they connect and communicate with men, and who want to express who they are and stand out more in the crowd. It’s also about adding a whole new dimension to their talents to amplify who they are, and to gain a greater understanding of what to look for in the men in their life.

The undercurrent of the book is about learning, appreciating and applying valuable new insights about how men think, act, and behave with women, and with one another. It’s intended to provide today’s single, successful, and selective women – in one quick-read (1hr) – a stronger understanding of the human nature of men and the psychology of men’s relationship with women today – strictly from a man’s perspective.

Copy Editing Task:

• Proof for proper spelling, grammar, and syntax.

• Check for typographical errors, spelling errors, and consistency aspects, correct errors, and pay particular attention to punctuation. But retain the satirical intent and tone above all else.

• Review to ensure accurate and consistent usage.

Line Editing Task:

I may need more intensive structural editing that focuses on the finer aspects of language- the flow of ideas, transition elements, tone, and style:

• Including all services of Copy Editing plus

o Correction of awkward constructions and suggestions to make sentences crisper and tighter by fixing redundancy…but remaining true to the satirical aspect and staccato tempo of the delivery.

o Possible re-writes on some sentences.

o Review the key aspects of the manuscript: the narrative arch, vocabulary, structure, characterization, style, and development, and

o Provide your Editors notes and overall comments.
