I am trying to help develop a WordPress site for a charity committed to saving endangered species. They want to link to a resource on a site called Arkive that provides images of various species and who provide an API to access the images.
I have generated the required code using the API wizard. This is a JavaScript / HTML function which calls an external JS file. The function passes the user key and image parameters to the JS file and displays the image at an appropriate position on the page.
Using a non-WordPress page created using WebPlus the image displays correctly and without problem.
Transferring the code to a WP page doesn't work. I have installed the 'Code Embed' plugin which should facilitate correct embedding of JavaScript into WordPress but it still refuses to work. From the Chrome debugger it would appear that the callback function is failing but it is not clear why. My understanding is that WP has issues with embedded JavaScript.
I have attached the calling function and remote JS file codes. I have obscured the actual ID Key which will be provided to the successful Freelancer. The instructions for the API are included in a PDF.
I just need to know how to correctly embed the JavaScript call on a WP Post or Project page so that it displays the required image.
