I need someone to program the back-end of an application to quickly organize events via web + email, with some google maps integration. Think craigslist with some extra fields and options.
All the html UIs are done, any modifications to UI will be done by me. I just need help with back-end software development. First iteration is very, very basic. If it looks good, then we will do a second iteration. I would prefer a ruby on rails development as I am familiar with that, however PHP could work too. MySQL db preferably.

Some features are missing from the UIs in question, but the major elements are there. Basically, you have two types of users.
Type 1: They want to find and join an ongoing or upcoming game
They click on Join on the homepage and are then able to scan through listings of events in their city. Think craigslist. When they find an event they want to take part in, they can enter their name and click to join the event.
Type 2: They want to organize a game
They click on Organize on the homepage and are able to enter the event details. Once they have entered everything, they need to confirm the listing by email (like craigslist) and then an email invitation is sent out to the people they listed in the event. If it is a recurring event, then those emails should be automatically sent out each time it happens. Each event needs a unique URL. ?
An event can be kept "private" which means it is not listed in the search or in the general listings that user type 1 consults. For email confirmation, check out [url removed, login to view]
First iteration is very basic. Then we can do another one. The UI is supposed to be upgly - like craigslist, Dredge Report...
