centos yum fix and get ssl working again

We got server Centos 5,9 with directadmin installed and got 2 problems.
1= yum is not working , so cannot update (missing rpm too)
2 = we have domain with ssl, and all of a sudden sssl stopped working, so we need this fixed asap
Problem is that i cannot reinstall the server because domain is still using php 5.2
