The App will allow a teacher to INPUT the following:
1. instructions (text);
2. a passage (text);
3. a timer to determine how long the student may read the passage;
4. a timer to determine how long the student may take to record the passage;
5. a rubric with options for radio buttons, check buttons or text boxes;
6. Email Sign in ability for students;
Here's how it works. A teacher opens the app, selects "New Assignment" or "Edit an Assignment"; teacher types in or copies and pastes instructions in a text box. Text formatting is possible. Teacher types in or copies and pastes a passage; Teacher selects or types in how many seconds or minutes the passage will be visible to the student; Teacher selects or types in how many seconds or minutes the passage will be recorded by the student.
The student logs in via an approved email; Student sees list of completed assignments and "New Assignments"; Student selects a new assignment and enters to read instructions; Student clicks to accept the next page; Student reads the passage with a timer counting down as entered by the teacher; Passage disappears for five seconds then the passage reappears with a timer and an announcement "Recording. Begin reading now." Then the timer will countdown. When timer expires, an MP3 file will be sent to the teacher.
When the teacher receives the student's MP3 file, the rubric will be visible below a mini-player. The teacher may listen and mark the rubric until. Teacher will click "Give Student Feedback". The rubric and the MP3 will be sent to the student; The rubric will have an option to email or be sent to Google Drive.
