Adobe after effects script needed

In adobe after effects you can animate a layer along a path. Here's the steps I currently do,

I have 2 layers, in the Path layer I use the pen tool to draw a path.

I then copy the PATH from the mask and paste it into POSITION property of the layer I want to move.

If I add a stroke to the mask layer, I can have an arrow move along the path while drawing the path behind it as a stroke.

So I would like to do this automatically without having to both copy the path from the mask to the position, and without having to manually adjust the first and last keyframes of both layers so that they are the same lengths, I'd like to have one slider control that will control bot the stroke effect keyframe (start and end) and the motion object keyframe (position start and end)

Are you able to write me a script or create the template that I can reuse this?
