Forensic Analysis of Instant Messenger Applications on Android Devices
Below are the aim and objectives of this project:
1. The aim of the project is to investigate and conduct forensic analysis on Android smartphones by collecting all the possible artefacts (digital evidences) which could be found on the device ,In this study I will focus on the artefacts that may be found in the device from using the social networks such as WeChat,WhatsApp and Facebook Massenger.
2. The main objectives of this study is to determine whether the activities through using the social networks on smartphones are stored on the internal memory and can it be recovered also to investigate which of these Applications could leave more important artefacts from a forensic point of view.
This can be done by:
• Finding the best forensic tools to collect the data from the suspected device in accordance with integrity of evidence .
• Using the appropriate tools to analyze the collected evidence .
• A table will be created to show which of the social networks apps is the richest with the important artefacts.
