Contest Brief

We have a production website up and running. We are in the process of designing a new site. The new site is already up and running but technically not live. What we need is someone to modify the look and feel of some parts of the site.

The work needs to be done on v3.logbinder.com. We are going for a metro look and feel. We don't necessarily want any 3d/flash/etc. In the information below "top tabs" means the "Solution, Products, Support, Partners, Resources, and About" tabs. "Sub tabs" means the "Why Important?, The Challenge, and The Solution" tabs and also the "Benefits, Features, Architecture and other tabs on the various Products pages.

1. We need the top tabs to have somewhat of the same look and feel as the sub tabs.
2. We want all of these pages to have a white background.
3. We don't want anything too busy. We would prefer it understated and clean looking.
4. We want the colors and fonts to flow and play nice together.
5. Basically the content and layout stays as is but you will design the style and look and feel of the site.

You should be able to just view the page source and modify the css files. We don't expect you to send us the new css files with your bid. If you want to present it in PDF or JPEG/PNG screenshots that is fine too.

    Just want to notify you said you want to change the CSS not the HTML design and top menu should be like Sub-Menu, I would done this much more better changing the HTML...

      It's called creativity. Which is why you didn't get the contest. As for the top and sub tabs having the same feel. Macroads submitted 10 different good designs with variations including designs showing the tabs we wanted. Here's the thing, I'm 100% positive your design is better than the one we chose, just not to us. Your work was good but just not what we are looking for....this time. There's always next time. That's the great thing about the function of the contest. Everyone submits their creative ideas but there is only one that is chosen. That's why we chose Contest and not a Project.

    I appreciate all of the submissions. We've rejected the submissions that we aren't happy with. The point of a "Contest" is for you to submit what you have come up with. We're not managing each submission and giving you what we want to fix. We'll manage the freelancer to who we award to. We'll award it to the person who we feel has come up with the idea closest to what we want. That's the entire purpose of this site. Freelancer states as the number 2 reason of what a contest is " Freelancers compete by submitting hundreds of ideas". It doesn't say, submit your idea and have the "Contest Holder" tell you what to fix so you can win.

      You are very disrespectful and arrogant with that comment, you think that takes 1 minute to come up with an idea?, we ask for a feedback, we tell you that we can make the canges you want as Macroads did and you don`t reply, don`t comment and you don`t use the tools that freelancers has like the star rating tool, if you rate and give any feedback we can check what is wrong with the design and try to make it better but don`t come back after 5 days just to reject every single design as it was sh*t, that is very disrespectful

      I'm sorry if I came across as arrogant or disrespectful. That was not my intention. The reason we use Freelancer is to save time ourselves. We designed all of our current websites but unfortunately we don't have the time to modify our current site, hence we choose Freelancer as our other option. I don't have the time to give comments and what could be better about each submission. I chose the best submission that met our needs and worked with them.

    It is not about winning, it is about respect for the time and effort the designers put into this kind of contest, there is a star rating tool you can use

      Besides, I don`t think that there is much to do by modifying just the css file, I`m impressed how different and outstanding can be 1 desinger idea from the others.

    And why do you respond only to one freelancer? Macroads: "Modified Version of #15 incorporating requested changes", Requested changes?, ahy don`t you give any feedback to any other freelancer?

      Yup, it is really not good. I feel that the contest holder should at least give some feedback on the design rather than just rejecting them. Or just select the winner.

    I am in. But since I have started working on the design it feels that the HTML markup of the website also needs to be improved in order to give it a better metro design feel.

    What do you think? Shall we continue working just on the CSS styles or improve the markup too?

    Everyone,

    We have sealed the contest as a few of you requested. Please keep in mind we are not looking for an entire site creation. We're looking to hopefully just get a new css file we can copy to the server that will update the "flavor" of the site.

    i would really appreciate if you could seal this contest .we are trying at first to draft something quick usign firebug and some css changes but this will not justify the prize money u are paying .My designers are working on this concept and as soon as we draft something professional and cool , will add our entry.once design is approved , we will work with you to migrate the same design from PSD to your site.
