WHAT IS IMPORTANT FOR US IS: THE NAME MUST BE EASILY READABLE, WE PREFER A MORE DELICATE LOOK, NOT TOO RESTAURANTY (THINK OF TAVERNA OR CAFE) , NO STARS, IT'S "Der Grieche - Restaurant & Café", THANK YOU ALL!!
We have just taken over a Greek Restaurant in North Germany & are in the middle of a major renovation and also a slight image change from old school rural Greek Restaurant to fresher lighter feel Taverna style eatery.
Being established (and also a bit stuck) as "Der Grieche" (The Greek) for more than 25 years, we have decided to stick with the name but add it to a lighter minimalistic logo. Our idea is to use the outline of Santorin buildings, e.g. the mills, for the logo as we are using a Santorin wallpaper in the restaurant. The tagline should feature the words Restaurant & Cafe, maybe Taverna.

  Hi, Thank you for your feedback! We are not only awarding based on Santorini windmills. We are looking for a logo for our first own Restaurant & Café and the most important thing for us is that it suits our concept & just feels right for us. Sometimes we just don't know what we want until we see it... but we trust that a good designer is used to this common difficulty in a client

A few comments:
Although we would like the outline of Santorin buildings included in the logo, in a minimalistic way, maybe handdrawn, we were more thinking about the windmills and would prefer not to solely feature churches
Stars in a logo might give the wrong impression about the level of the restaurant
Colour scheme should be greek, if at all

Please make sure it is not just any windmill shape that is used, we would like the typical Santorin windmill featured. Although we like round logos, maybe seeing a nice handdrawn, more delicate minimalistic logo using the Santorin windmills or skyline would change our minds

We like the greek symbols & also the windmills but would wish for more handdrawn minimalistic finish. Also prefer more greek-looking fonds, but should still be readable. Looking at the entries, we also like the enclosed (round or edgy) logos.
