Contest Brief

Hello!

I'm looking to have a logo designed for the re-brand of our new pub. It's a large pub that overlooks a marina on a lake. We're naming it the Outboard Waterfront Pub (after outboard engines on the boats in the marina.)

It's a fairly modern looking pub. Outside is stucco, inside has a mixture of tile and wood. Huge patio. It's currently known as the Blue Heron Pub, and there are photos online if you google it. It's in Vernon, British Columbia. However, the place will have a slightly different feel than in the photos as we'll be painting the building and changing up the decor.

I would be looking to keep the photoshop/Illustrator files of the winning logo.

Looking forward to seeing some creative ideas!

Okay so now the huge question. What demographic are you trying to target? Like an every day "average Joe"? Or people of a more refined elegant variety?

  It's a very seasonal business, with a huge tourist component in the summer months. Lots of families boating over. A really beachy, fun feel. In the winter, it's a slightly older demographic. Food will be "upscale pub." We want the feel to be fun, warm, casual.

  It's a mixture. The outside of the building will be a reddish colour, but the inside has lot's of blue. The bar top and carpet are currently a darker blue.. like a royal blue.
