<Overview>

<Technology Description>
This technology detects targets area around a vehicle using sensors, and performs parking assistance control to allow the vehicle to autonomously travel to a parking area based on the detected targets. The targets include a stopper in the parking area. According to usual control, the wheels of the vehicle come into contact with the stopper. However, when an exterior part such as a current plate　 extending downward from the lower surface of the bumper cover is provided on a front side of the vehicle and is lower than the stopper, this technology causes the vehicle to stop with a certain distance between a front end of the exterior part and the stopper. The distance from the stopper to the front end of the vehicle may be approximately "0". The body (exterior part) of a vehicle can be prevent from hitting the stopper.
