Contest Brief

I have two old face shot photos. Both are from the 1800’s - about 25 years apart. I have multiple reasons to believe they are ABSOLUTELY the same man. I have done some armature working with the photos with morphing apps and am convinced they are 100% the same person. The only thing is that the famous person was recorded to have been murdered in between the taking of the two photos! I’m looking for a professional who can help me with some optics in a documentary proving that these two photos are indeed the same person. What you will be required to do is find two grainy photos of Charlie Chaplin or another person of your choice from the 1800’s (they must be years apart) from the 1800’s and/or early 1900’s, enhance the photos (make the photos higher definition), make them color, morph the photos from one to the other, graph the photos (like you would expect someone who is a forensic detective on the History channel to do). - like they do with Egyptian mummies sometime etc. Make me believe these two photos are the same person (even though you already know they are). The winner will receive the prize money and I will release the actual photos to the winner (after a non disclosure agreement is signed) to do the similar work with for an earth shattering discovery documentary that should be life changing for many people. Please remember that the photos I have are a little grainy but clear enough to enhance and work well with etc.

Start with grainy face photo show it being enhanced show it being colorized. Show second face photo going through the same processes. Show both photos together. Graph both photos from eye to eye, nose to hose features, make me believe in a scientific manner these two photos you chose to work with are both the same person.

    I am up for this project as it sounds quite interesting but I am kind of confused. You have asked for a lot more in the job description but have given 5-star ratings to those images that are simply photo restorations which frankly speaking, can be achieved with just a single click. Please tell me if I am missing something, thanks.

      All I can think of is either this project is a scam of some kind, or the contest holder was inexperienced and had no idea what he wanted. He got overwhelmed by all of the entries and lost track of what actually he was looking for in the first place, its kind of sad but funny too.

      I sincerely love it when a conversation is tainted with intelligence throughout any replies...
      There CAN be a situation where he wants to fish out "hard core (Those that read AND understand)" from "loose core (those that read'ish and are attracted to stars)" via a red herring...

      But through personal experience I can insist that it would be far too naive to put hopes on so such possible options.

    Hello to everyone,
    When I look at the shared entries (except for the sealed entries), I see that there are only 2 people working as the contest holder wants.
    1) Me. #32
    2) T.C. Berter A. #56

    HOWEVER!!!
    When I looked at the rating of the entries, I saw that neither mine nor Berter A.'s entry was scored.

    Even funnier than that, almost all of the posts that have been rated and given 3-4-5 stars (including the 6 entries that were deleted after I report them) are works that have been passed through Before-After images found on the internet, simple coloring works or pixel correction filters.

      The only logical way out of it would be that to what you said in your own post "That people would copy it". And that the contest holder respected this and sort of kept to not have your entry copied.
      Maybe S/he took this one step further and chose to generate an impression of a red herring sort. To kind of fish out those that "read" and those that do not.

      But then comes the situation where intelligent people in the likes of Omer F. that are deterred/intimidated from attending with acceptably decent (subjective a view, but let us say "to what we think it was supposed to be).
      So I find this idea both illogical and a poor judgement (Tactique-wise).. Thus I am led to think via doubts just like yourself.

      Your entry is the most comprehensive comment the contest holder has ever left on anyone's. I prefer to stick to the fact that a comment takes more time/effort than any "click and give stars" tends to. And I prefer to be a bit more optimistic.
      The end result will show best what is the actual road map the contest holder has set for.

    Since only GIF, JPEG, JPG, PNG. formats are allowed on the competition we are not TOO able to give an idea of how the techniques would be realized. And this on it's own is actually a very "creative process" that would be very unfair to share out to the many "steel from the internet and hope to win" type of entrants.
    Normally I am against "sealing" contests as most of the time it is cheaters that do not want their entries realized. But in this case I would especially request the competition to be sealed as to both ensure privacy and to provoke creativity.
    I so hope youy would agree and choose such a conversion. #sealed

    You want us to:
    1. find two pictures of the same person
    2. in high quality that we can work with
    3. colorize both of them
    4. compare face details one by one
    5. animate both colorization and comparisons
    6. morph the two images
    7. and create a video from all of that?????

      I’m a random person and I have uploaded the two photos myself into multiple free iPhone apps and in seconds have gotten better results that’s any of the entries. You obviously need to learn the free technology that’s available instead of working so hard and un-smart. It’s obvious you aren’t very busy based on the length of your message..
