Contest Brief

I would like a logo/icon of a cartoon octopus. This is for a business software product. It should be fairly simple. It should be cute, but not overly cute. It should be professional enough looking for a piece of business software.

Below are some inspiration ideas that I found on the Internet that I like. But of course, this needs to be a completely original creation.

As for colors, some ideas that I like are blue/teal/aquamarine and purple/magenta. It may be a single color, or maybe a gradient of the two.

The image should have a transparent background.

The logo must be done as a vector image, so that it can be scaled to any size without pixelations. I would like the image in .EPS format.
I would also like a copy in .JPG format.
I would also like to receive the image as a Windows icon (.ICO file), containing the following sizes: 16x16, 32x32, 48x48 (8-bit and 4-bit color palettes), and 256x256 (32-bit color palette).
Make sure that the small sizes (especially the 16x16) look decent at that resolution, and so that it's obvious that it's the same logo (and of course still looks like an octopus!)
