Contest Brief

Hello community. I am a entrepreneur and I am setting up an institute that will organize conferences, workshops, seminars, mentor and consult young academics and professionals about their studies and work plans and development. I am interested in creating a logo that will make our website memorable and it will help it thrive. The name is Global Institute for Research, Education and Scholarship, the acromym is GIRES. While we mostly work on humanities and social sciences and not solely on natural sciences, the name was inspired by the word Gyres, the large system of circulating ocean currents, particularly those involved with large wind movements. I just mention it since we are thinking to play with the motion that the winds have but not make it a logo for environment or sea. We believe that we will be a new wind that we will change academia. Our motto is Aut viam inveniam aut faciam which means either we will find the way or we will create the way. We would like to have a logo that is modern, possibly 3D or one that has some depth and looks powerful and serious but at the same time welcoming and friendly. Also we would like black, purple, blue, red, orange, and pink to be part of it, maybe not all of them if not possible but not too bright but definitely not too dark. We would like to show welcoming and show that we know who we are and what we do i.e young, serious, friendly and professionals and full of potential and dreams. We expect the logo to be save and sent in all formats in order to use it in our website, envelopes and personal cards.

    So far we see wonderful work. We love that we have logos that do not only put the name but give a memorable logo playing with letter G from Global and possible with I from Institute. Please let me underline that in the proposals the word GIRES is with I and not with Y because it means something else. Ours is with I. And that in the proposals please if you may, include ideas that have the entire name underneath the logo and GIRES. We want Gires to be memorable but also underneath to have all the words so people understand what is GIRES means. Thank you all so far for your great work and we are eager to decide soon.     We are open in both ways. Use GIRES as the main but put somewhere the full name so people would know. Otherwise use only GIRES. Ideally we would prefer to see both options and decide
