About Me
My contributions to the world of education are profound and influential. There is more to education than just being a classroom teacher. I have been a high school math teacher for 12 years now. My love of teaching math and telling stories inspired me to write my first book, "Algebra for the Urban Student." This is the first algebra book that uses everyday language to illustrate algebra concepts. I founded the EDUKATE Academy in December 2011. The EDUKATE Academy allows me to represent the various dimensions of my expertise in writing, training, and teaching.
