The BABEL Tower A BABEL (Buoyant-Advanced Building-Elevator Lightweight) Tower is a hypothetical design concept of a super-tall building with tethered-buoyant platforms combined with a buoyant shaft. This proposal represents the results of a deep evaluation of several alternatives, with a recommendation but subject to many possibilities. The needed solution must not be only technical but a combination of several factors, including financial, management, organization and scheduling. The Inspiration Mars mission must not be considered as a single one, as an end in itself, like Apollo, but as the first step of an entire space development plan. In this case any investment would be spread for several missions with possibilities of being amortized through the favorable results of related business activities. An entire space development master plan can be the result of such approach and the momentum acquired by the first mission will guarantee continuity to the continuity to the initiative and positive results for its participants and be interesting for space agencies to be part of it.

The rehabilitation program of Hangar One at Moffett Field, NASA Ames Research Park, represents a unique opportunity to bring new life to an omnipresent landmark of Silicon Valley. In that way, the integrated, diversified, green, and global space development HUB that has been proposed seems to be the best re-use strategy for this iconic resource. Yet, we believe that the next step of the reinventing process would be adding to Hangar One an unprecedented and innovative use, which leverages its development in a manner that is compatible and consistent with NASA’s mission. For this reason, and thinking about a proper use of the immense interior volume available, we want to propose as a complement, the construction of an interplanetary-interstellar spaceship model, in a real scale (1:1), or in an adequate scale that maximizes the relation spaceship-dimension/interior-volume. The starship will be integrated by interactive volumes where the public can be part of the space development process
