Analytics, Seo and Wordpress assistance

We are a small company, and I wear many hats. I've maxed out my knowledge when it comes to the science of seo and my wordpress site. I need help resolving a few issues, you all can probably fix in your sleep: 1) have I messed up by redirecting my urls? 2) our competitors are killing us in search rankings (this is new) 3) we only operate in 3 midwestern states, how do I work with this in seo 4) I can't seem to get an adwords account correctly linked ...so we can't fully strategize.
Finally, I'm looking for a freelancer who doesn't mind doing a little tutoring so I can understand my errors. I hope to establish a relationship for future projects, budget allowing (so we need a partner who is sensitive to small budgets).
5) authenticate our url so we can step up our email marketing. Am running into roadblocks.
Which means poking into our dns records (?)...this is my first priority
