Hello, I am a System Administrator with extended knowledge in BSD and Unix in general. I have worked in HP as Unix Deep Technical Support 3rd Level. Also I have deployed first 4G LTE Mobile Network in Bulgaria with custom Unix solutions along with Nokia/Cisco/Huawei equipment integrating everything to the point to work flawless. I will write a bash script to monitor your processes and relaunch or use external tool for that there are good open source alternatives.

I have experience with Shell Scripting. I was working with WiFi Router which has Linux Platform. For that Product, I have written WiFi Auto Channel Selection Script, Auto Firmware Upgrade Script and Many others. I have worked with such monitoring script(WiFi Auto Channel selection) where my job was to monitor the process of WiFi signals and select suitable channel and restart the process which was handling WiFi AP to that channel. Every time it restarts i also have to generate Logs which in your case would be helpful. I can make a shell script which will restart the ffmpeg process and everytime when it fails, script will restart the process and store the Logs to a file which was given by the process before failure.

I work with ffmpeg and currently working on another stream monitoring project as well. However, regarding your problem, doesn't a infinite loop works for you? this is what I am doing in my current work where I am processing (not streaming) some video stream. It would be helpful if you explain why your stream is going down. some error logs.

I can do this for you. I can automate your script to restart the streaming when the streaming stops. I'll write another bash script that will monitor your streaming and if there's a problem re-run your script or just notify you. I have experience on building these type of scripts. Worked on a similar project. Please let me know.

Reason i think i can complete this project because i already worked on Nagios monitoring scripts for process monitoring . I will be able to write a script and set up job if you like which can monitor a process and start it as well as soon it goes down . If you would like to have email notification during such events , can be done as well
